Data & privacy policy

Last updated 9 October 2026

Draft: this policy is being reviewed and will be finalised before Tripo launches.

What we collect, why, what we never collect, and your rights under India's data protection law.

What we collect from you

Your name, email and mobile number, to make your account and your bookings.

The details of what you book, including travellers' names, and your PAN when the law requires it for a holiday outside India.

What you save to Favourites.

How you use your account: when you sign in, what you book and spend, and the offer codes you use. Tripo's founder reviews this to run and improve Tripo; it stays within Tripo.

Your bank account details, only if you give them so we can send you a refund.

What we count without knowing who you are

We count visits and where they come from (for example a search engine or a link), and what is searched for (a route or a city, the dates, how many travellers, and whether the person searching was signed in). These counts carry no name, contact details or IP address: they tell us what travellers want, not who wants it.

Cookies and tracking

Tripo itself keeps only what it needs in your browser: a cookie that keeps you signed in, your cookie choice, the booking you are in the middle of, and a visit number that is forgotten when you close the tab.

When Tripo uses analytics or advertising tools from other companies, they load only if you agree in the cookie choice, and you can change it with Cookie choices, in the app's Account tab or at the foot of the website. Our own visit counts honour your browser's Do Not Track setting.

Payments

Payments are handled by Razorpay. Tripo receives whether a payment succeeded and its reference, never your card details.

Who sees your data

Tripo's team, to serve your bookings and run Tripo; the travel providers who need your details to provide your travel; and service providers who send our emails or process payments for us. We do not sell your data, and we do not send you marketing based on it without asking you first.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to erase it where the law allows, and you may withdraw consent you have given. Contact details will be published here before Tripo launches.

The name and contact of our grievance officer will be published here before Tripo launches.

How long we keep it

We keep account details while your account is open, and booking and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
